ALEXANDRA POWELL SPARE,
Owner/Landscape Designer
After studying Landscape Horticulture Alex graduated
from The University of Maine and moved to Annapolis,
Maryland to begin her landscape career. From Production
Manager to Landscape Designer Alex worked for and
with industry leaders in an aggressive, fast paced market
serving high-end residential design, installation, and
maintenance customers throughout Maryland and
Virginia. Working extensively in the field managing the
implementation of her designs and just as hard creatively
drafting in the office, Alex melded the design process
providing clients with the attention to detail and
execution of design intent unique to her experience.

Irrigation & Lighting Specialist
Mike began his career in landscaping as owner of a small
lawn care company in Maryland. Providing comprehensive
lawn maintenance for distinguished properties throughout
Annapolis, MD. As clients sought his advice for irrigation
help Mike began learning how to install and service
irrigation systems. After selling his company and going to
work within the irrigation field Mike continued growing his
expertise working for several companies that exclusively
offered irrigation.

Ready to slow down and appreciate life Alex moved back to Maine with her husband Mike
and together made the decision to assume control over the direction of their landscape
careers. PS Landscape & Design is their creation and outlet for continuing to do what they
have a passion for~ landscape design, installation, enhancement, irrigation, lighting,
gardening and an occasional water feature while enjoying the relationships they cultivate
with their clients.

attended numerous training seminars before taking a position as an Irrigation Division
Manager. Mike personally trained his crew and re-vamped a division from the ground up. He
added low-voltage lighting as a service offering and assisted Landscaping with anything water
related. Tackling large commercial fountains, pump systems, and maintenance packages. As
his Designer wife, Alex, sought help creating water falls and laying out irrigation and lighting
schematics the couple saw the benefits of Designer and Irrigation/Lighting guy working
together from the start creating a comprehensive landscape package that reduced
complication and made for stunning landscapes inclusive of all service offerings.
